On this final post for my #WorldBreastfeedingWeek blog series, I want to end in the same way I've ended each post this week. To all you working moms. Leche Libre salutes you!
I know I keep saying it, but it can't be said enough. Being a Mom is one of the least appreciated jobs around. Its a 24 hour a day/7 days a week gig. Its physically, mentally and emotionally grueling. It can make you scream and yell and lock yourself in the bathroom.
But its arguably the MOST IMPORTANT job around. Its within our power to raise the next generation with love and compassion. To teach them to to care about other people, to care about our planet and to care doing the right thing. Without us, there would be no doctors or presidents or scientists. I'll let you fill in the blanks of whatever you think the most important work that people do. That person would not exist if their mother had not raised and nurtured them to reach their potential.
So, lets all raise a glass and toast each other. For all the sacrifices we make on a daily basis to create the best life we can for our babies. Cheers to all the women, today and who have come before us, who have worked so hard to create better lives for our babies and families. I am in awe when I think of the collective power of women. So, to all you beautiful badasses out there, Cheers! Leche Libre salutes you.
